Surrogate Mother

The process of childbearing by the method of surrogate motherhood is based on a legally binding, notarized agreement between the genetic parents and the surrogate mother, according to which the surrogate mother bears the child

Nowadays, many women experience common health problems or genetic conditions that prevent them from becoming pregnant or making pregnancy unsafe for both mother and baby.

Surrogate motherhood allows one or both genetic parents to have a biological relationship with the baby, as opposed to adoption.

The surrogate mother may not be genetically related to the baby (gestational surrogacy) or be the child's genetic mother (traditional surrogate motherhood).

The Law of Ukraine allows the use of only gestational surrogacy.
Traditional surrogacy is not provided for by Ukrainian Law and is illegal!
